EIT Food Export Evaluator & Coach/Mentor

EIT Food is a consortium of more than 50 partners from leading businesses, research centres and universities across 13 countries that has been selected by the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) as the Knowledge and Innovation Community (KIC) in the agrifood sector. As one of the largest public-funded initiatives in the EU agrifood innovation space, the EIT Food KIC acts as a people-centric and resource-smart transformer of the European food system, driving consumer confidence and improving global health.
Oonagh Monahan started as a Coach on the EIT Food Seedbed accelerator bootcamps that were held in Belfast (Northern Ireland), Munich (Germany) and Aarhus (Denmark) in 2020. She was subsequently invited to become an expert evaluator for funding applications. Oonagh is currently the coach for FeJuice, a University spin-out science-based nutrition drink company in Serbia.  

My role:
• evaluation of project proposals submitted by entrepreneurs and startups
• 1:1 discussions with shortlisted applicants to determine fit for the funding
• to provide short term business coaching support as agreed between the funding recipient and EIT Food
• assisting EIT Food by providing opinions and advice in specific cases (ad-hoc tasks)

Technical Writer & Expert Assessor for R&D Tax Credits (Revenue Commissioners & HMRC)

To qualify for the R&D Tax Credit, a company’s research and development activities must meet the qualifying criteria laid out by Revenue or HMRC.  

Our role is to get to know your business, we will meet with your team to discuss and explore R&D opportunities and activities, identify the qualifying activities, articulate the detail of the project, and prepare the Science Test element of the report for submission.  

In addition, we can advise on how best to prepare and manage the documentation needed, and identify R&D funding and other supports that may be available.
